Prarie School

I am reading a book about a small school. The school is in the praries in Montana. First grade to eighth grade students go to the school. It is like an elementary school and a junior high school together. There are only 36 students. All of the students are in one room together.

The teacher has to teach all eight levels in the same room. I think that would be very difficult. Many years ago, in the western parts of America, we had many schools like this.

Studying together helps the lower grades, because they can see the advanced lessons. On the other hand, there is less time to focus on each lesson.

Which do you think is better?
