Little Earthquake

July 21, 2010

I was awakened this morning by an earthquake. It wasn’t very big, so I went back to sleep.

It was the first time for me to feel an earthquake from the fourth floor. Usually I have been living on the first floor.

I was nervous that the building would shake a lot, but it wasn’t very different from being on the first floor.

Were you in the earthquake? I hope you are OK.

Protecting Children

February 18, 2010

Today I was teaching a second grade class in the gym. During class an earthquake happened. The children were very scared. I tried to keep them calm while we listened to the announcements.

I was worried they might panic. We couldn’t feel the earthquake, so it wasn’t scary. The announcements were scary.

Many teachers don’t know in detail how the announcment system works. We are having a meeting to learn about the announcement system.

All Shook Up

February 18, 2009

Good evening. This morning I woke up early to check on the weather. I was worried about snow. I didn’t want to be late for work.

After I woke up and found the weather was clear, I watched Stargate: SG-1 on AXN. While watching TV my house started to shake. It shook pretty hard, but not for very long. After that, I continued watching my show.

Recently I was thinking it has been a long time since we had an earthquake.

Today we had a wonderful presentation at school and the weather was beautiful.

Big Quake in Niigata

July 16, 2007

Today there was an earthquake in Niigata. We are very far from there and didn’t feel it at all. Many people were injured, but only a few people died.

I went to the book store and bought an application form for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. This year I plan to take the level two test. Next year I will take the level one test.
