Rainy Day Fireworks

November 1, 2010

Last night it was raining at my apartment. It was raining pretty hard. I heard many loud noises outside. They sounded like explosions.

I went outside on the balcony to see what was making the noise. There were many bright explosions. Someone was launching fireworks near my house.

I was very surprised. I always thought that fireworks couldn’t be launched in heavy rain. There were a lot of fireworks. They were very beautiful.

I think a school near my home was celebrating their culture festival.

Did you know that fireworks could be launched during heavy rain? Have you watched fireworks in the rain?

Going the Wrong Way

July 17, 2010

This morning I drove up to Tsu to help friends practice English at a tea shop. After that I practiced calligraphy at my teachers home. On the way home I ran into a traffic jam. Why? Because there are fireworks near my home tonight.

The Ise fireworks are very popular. I really want to see them; however, I’m going back to Tsu for a party. It seems like I’m going the wrong way.

I hope the party is fun.

Big Fireworks

August 18, 2007

Yesterday I went to Kumano with some friends. We watched an amazing fireworks display. There were about 10,000 fireworks. One of them was 600 meters wide. We could feel the shockwave.

The weather was very hot and there was no wind, but we got fans to keep us cool. We returned on a charter train after midnight.

Kindergarten Festival

July 15, 2007

Early in the morning the typhoon passed by. The weather changed from rain to sunshine. Takaoka Kindergarten decided to hold their summer festival.

At the start, the children sang songs for the parents. The five year old students played “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” using hand bells. I was amazed.

After the festival we saw many fireworks. It was nice event.
