Valentine’s Day is an important time in America. Sometimes women will give a present to their husbands or boyfriends, but men must give something to their wives or girlfriends.
Sometimes we give chocolates. Sometimes we give flowers. Sometimes we plan a romantic dinner date. But we must do something special.
Even though I am in Japan, I still follow the American tradition. Now I am making plans for Valentine’s Day. What should I do?

My friend has a small garden where he grows many fruits and vegetables. He likes to do a lot of cooking with his homegrown foods. One of his favorites is bread.
He offered me a loaf of bread. I hope to get it tomorrow. I think it will be very delicious.
I love Japanese food very much, but I still love good bread. Do you like bread? Do you prefer bread or rice?

Yesterday I heard that the expressway between my home and my work will be free. In June, many tolls will be reduced to zero. Fortunately, the road I need will be one of them. Starting in June, I think I will drive to work. I hope the road doesn’t get too crowded.
Today I drove to work and it went very smoothly. I arrived at work too early, so I watched a DVD in the car.

Today I drove from Ise to Tsu during rush hour. Driving all the way to Kumozu River takes about 40 minutes. Driving over the bridge and through the Takachaya area takes about 40 minutes. If everyone cooperated, it would take about 10 minutes. I wish everyone would cooperate.
I was listening to nice music, so I could stay calm.

Today is the first of February. I went to Sushi Kyu this morning. On the first day of each month they serve a special meal with porridge. They start serving at 5AM and stop serving when the food runs out.
After I moved to Ise, I planned to go every month. I wanted to try every type. Unfortunately, after my accident in August, it has been difficult to go. This month, I bought a car, so today I drove to Sushi Kyu.
The porridge was very good. It included a fish, egg, ginger, and seaweed. There were lots of pickles and a Japanese plum, too.
Outside the window, I could see the river. The water level is low. The water is very, very clear. Some leaves were floating on the surface.
I have eaten the special porridge for February, June, July, August, and November. This year, I hope to eat it in March, April, May, September, October, December, and January.

Today I bought a 200 gram chocolate bar. It was very big, but the price was very low. I thought I could eat a little bit each day. It could last several days.
The chocolate had raisins and nuts inside. I like this kind of chocolate a lot.
Unfortunately, I ate the whole chocolate bar tonight. It was too much chocolate.

My friend, who is a restaurant owner, recommended a Chinese restaurant to me. He told me about it a long time ago. Yesterday I ate dinner there. It was very good. The restaurant is called Makanaiya.
I tried to go one time about two years ago, but the restaurant was closed. In Japan, most restaurants are closed one day each week. I think it is important for the owners to take a short break. After refreshing they can return to the restaurant with great energy.
I drove to the restaurant in my new car. It has a navigation system. We used the navigation system to guide us. It was very convenient.
Do you like Chinese food? Do you have a favorite restaurant?

Last night I used the heater before bed. My bedroom was very warm. I didn’t use the heater while I was sleeping. When I woke up, the room was very cold.
I sleep with a nice down comforter, so I was very warm. I didn’t want to get out of bed.
Also, I was very tired. My warm bed felt very nice.
If I didn’t have to work, I think I would sleep until noon.
Is your bed warm? Is your bedroom cold? Is it difficult to get up in the morning?

Today I bought a cake from my friend’s cafe. The cake is not very big. I expected the cake to be light. When I picked up the bag, it was very heavy. The cake has raisins and nuts in it which make it heavy. Also, I think it may be soaked in syrup.
I hope it is very tasty. I think it will be high in calories.

When I was only 4 years old, a man walked on the moon. I sat next to my father and watched it on the TV. I was very excited. I decided I wanted to be an astronaut.
For many years, I dreamed about being an astronaut.
When you were small, did you have a dream? What did you want to be?
