Teaching Japanese

March 13, 2008

One of my students is Brazilian. When she started studying with me, I was teaching her English. Her English is very advanced.

At some point, she decided that she needed to improve her Japanese language skills. She asked me to teach Japanese to her. It feels strange teaching Japanese because I am not a native speaker, but it is a good exercise for me. I have to review my lessons.

Tonight she will come to my classroom. She is very busy, but she always has a good attitude about studying.

A Day as Santa

December 8, 2007

Today I spent eight hours dressed as Santa Claus for three kids’ events. All of the children were wearing interesting costumes. They were happy to see Santa Claus and to get presents.

Only two children were afraid of Santa. Santa is very big; wears strange clothes; speaks loudly; and his face is hidden by his beard: I can understand why he seems scary.

Tomorrow I will work at a similar event.

Chores Galore

November 7, 2007

Wednesdays I don’t have a lot of classes yet. So, I spend time on Wednesdays preparing for my busy days on Thursdays and Fridays. Today I spent the whole day doing chores. It was tiring, but it made me happy.

Gathering Students

August 25, 2007

This week I found three new customers. Probably they will take about 27 hours of lessons each month. I have been very fortunate.
