A friend of mine has concerts on Wednesday nights at a club called the Paradox. The audience is usually very small, but it is fun. They serve good Mediterranean food, also. Tonight I will go to the concert at 9 O’Clock. I think I will take my camera.
Because I am taking medicine, I won’t be drinking any alcohol. Because I scrapped my car, I will go by bicycle. Because it is very cold outside, I will wear a neck warmer and special gloves. Because I work tomorrow, I won’t stay too late.

Yesterday was a holiday. I took a short trip to Kyoto by train. I rode on a limited express train. They are more expensive, but very quiet and fast. The weather was mostly sunny, but it was a little windy.
I took many pictures. I saw many people wearing kimono. Some were young people wearing very bright colors and very long sleeves. Some were graduating from college and wore hakama, some were older couples wearing very conservative colors.
After walking around a lot, I rested at Tora-ya. It is a very nice tea shop.

Sunday I went to an after school club (学童) in the countryside. We were making mochi and selling it to the neighbors as a fundraiser. We used a stone bowl and wooden mallets to pound the rice. It was very chewy and sticky.
We were happy that the weather was so sunny and warm.
The children helped a little, but mostly they played. Some of them learned about how to split wood with an axe.
Inside we had pork soup, mochi, onigiri, senzai, and fried eggs on shrimp crackers. I ate too much.

Good evening. This morning I woke up early to check on the weather. I was worried about snow. I didn’t want to be late for work.
After I woke up and found the weather was clear, I watched Stargate: SG-1 on AXN. While watching TV my house started to shake. It shook pretty hard, but not for very long. After that, I continued watching my show.
Recently I was thinking it has been a long time since we had an earthquake.
Today we had a wonderful presentation at school and the weather was beautiful.

Today I found snow on my car in the morning. After I got to school, the snow stopped, and the sun came out. During first period, it started to snow again. The snow started and stopped at least 10 times during the day. Each time the snow stopped, it got sunny.
I couldn’t believe it.
At school it caused a lot of trouble because the students were very excited and distracted.

I didn’t really type this today. It was typed yesterday, but today I am on vacation. I am shopping in Kyoto. I hope the weather is sunny and warm.
At Nishiki Market I want to buy a tool for grating daikon radishes. They make a special kind there. I love eating grated daikon radishes and it is a really easy dish to make.
We will probably also visit some old shrines. I enjoy the ancient architecture in Kyoto.

Today one of my students wanted to wear my thick, fleece scarf. She was very excited to wear it. The first thing she noticed was that it’s very large. The second thing was that it smelled like a foreigner. Her neighbor smelled it too.
They were both very happy. Sometimes I feel like a big brother that everyone likes.
It was very sunny today and many sparrows were playing outside.
One student made okonomiyaki for all the teachers. It had cheese and rice cake inside. I was very full after eating it.

Today was a holiday. Normally I like to go on trips during holidays; however, today I rested a lot. I have been too busy lately and needed a break.
I did laundry and hung it out in the fresh air to dry. The weather was very sunny, but it started to rain in the afternoon.
My food choices were very strange today. I wanted to get rid of old food in the fridge. I made fried eggs, hash browned potatoes with onions, grated Japanese radish, and yakisoba.

Saturday I took a trip to Takasu in Gifu prefecture. There was a party at a condo on Saturday night. About 30 people were there and we had a potlatch dinner. Everyone stayed up very late. I only slept about three hours.
Sunday we went skiing. The weather was very beautiful and the snow condition was good. On the way home there was a traffic jam, so we got home very late.
My back muscles are a little sore today, but I feel pretty good.

This morning the weather was sunny and clear, so I rode my bicycle to work. Sometimes I am very busy after work, so I must drive to work. Today, I had a simple schedule. After work I rode to the real estate agency and then to the bank.
For dinner I had tofu, grated daikon radish, and roasted tea. Usually I eat some kind of fish or meat, but occasionally I have a simple vegetarian meal.
Tonight I will meet some friends for tea and conversation.
