Lazy Day

September 10, 2011

In America many people work very hard from Monday to Friday. Often they are very tired at the end of the week. Commonly people will have a lazy day on Saturday.

They might sleep in late; get up for brunch at a local restaurant; and go to a park. They might watch TV shows. It is considered a way to refresh.

My Saturday is rarely a lazy day. I study Japanese calligraphy on Saturday’s. My class is in a different city so I have to get up and ride a train. I really enjoy studying calligraphy, but sometimes I want a lazy day on Saturday.

Do you have busy Saturdays or lazy Saturdays?

Nice Little Party

April 7, 2009

Tonight I went to a party in a quiet area. It was in an old house. I love traditional Japanese homes, so I was very happy. The sliding screens had beautiful, old calligraphy on them. Around the house there were many cherry trees in full bloom. It was so beautiful.

We ate chicken, beef, and vegetables cooked in pots on the table. There was a lot of food. Almost everyone drove, so we drank tea instead of alcohol.

The guests were all students from an English class. Many members have new girlfriends and boyfriends, so there was some fun conversation about love.
