No More Beef

I love vegetables. I want to eat vegetables with every meal. I enjoy eating lots of vegetables.

Some people think I should be a vegetarian, since I eat so many vegetables. I don’t think that is a good idea. I like to eat some meat with my vegetables: fish, pork, seafood, chicken or beef. Of course, I don’t like to eat too much meat. I want more vegetables than meat.

Recently I noticed that I eat less beef every year. I almost never eat beef now. I didn’t make a decision to stop eating beef. It just happened naturally.

I really love fish, seafood and pork. I still eat them almost every day.

I Like Fish

One of my favorite foods is fish. When I was young we always wanted hamburgers or steak. As I got older I ate more chicken and pork. Now I live in Japan and I eat fish several times every week. Of course, when I was young I ate fish, but now I eat more fish.

Sometimes we would go fishing for rainbow trout. On special occasions we would eat salmon.

The town where I live now is near the water. We can get many different kinds of fish here. Today I ate mackerel. It was very good.

Shopping at the Market

For more than a hundred years, there has been a public market in Seattle. It was created by farmers. They wanted a convenient place to sell fresh food to customers. The market is very successful because it is inexpensive, but also it is very fun and lively.

You can find fruits and vegetables, flowers, nuts and honey, fish and seafood, and handmade goods. Many shopkeepers are energetic and amusing.

Also, there are famous shops like the very first Starbuck’s Coffee shop. They usually have musicians in front of the shop and they sell fresh coffee inside. A lot of people who love Starbuck’s go there to have their picture taken and buy souvenir goods.

The view from the market is very beautiful. We can see the ocean and mountains and trees.
