Pumpkin Problems

October 31, 2011

Today is Halloween. It is not a traditional holiday in Japan, but it is slowly becoming popular.

On Halloween, Canadians and Americans like to carve a face in a pumpkin. We put a candle inside and call it a jack-o-lantern. Usually we put it in front of our house as a decoration.

I found pumpkins in Japan. I made jack-o-lanterns from the pumpkins, but there was a problem. If I put them outside, they rotted very fast. Canada and most of America are very cold at the end of October. Japan is very warm.

Where do you live? Is it cold enough to put a jack-o-lantern outside?

Jack O Lantern

October 22, 2009

Today two giant pumpkins will be carved into Jack o’ lanterns for Halloween. I have a very busy schedule, but I hope to see the event. Also, I am hoping to eat fish and chips at the restaurant where the event is.

Recently the weather has been getting cold at night. I will remember to dress warm.
