Chinese Food

January 27, 2010

My friend, who is a restaurant owner, recommended a Chinese restaurant to me. He told me about it a long time ago. Yesterday I ate dinner there. It was very good. The restaurant is called Makanaiya.

I tried to go one time about two years ago, but the restaurant was closed. In Japan, most restaurants are closed one day each week. I think it is important for the owners to take a short break. After refreshing they can return to the restaurant with great energy.

I drove to the restaurant in my new car. It has a navigation system. We used the navigation system to guide us. It was very convenient.

Do you like Chinese food? Do you have a favorite restaurant?

Tonight, a Class

November 10, 2009

Two times each month, I teach an adult class at night. All of the students are young workers. They are very interesting people. They have many different jobs: librarian, Kindergarden teacher, web site designer, office worker, …

Whenever I teach this class, I get home very late at night. Also, I need to fill my time after work and before the class. Today, I hope to practice playing shakuhachi at a shrine. I am worried about the weather. It looks like rain.

If it rains, maybe I will go to a friend’s house.

Hoping for Sunshine

October 20, 2009

Every weekday I ride the train from Ise to Tsu. The train ride from Ujiyamada Station to Tsu Shinmachi Station takes 35 minutes. It would take about 1 hour by car. Also, the train uses very little energy per person, but cars use a lot. It is much more efficient to take the train.

However, when I ride the train, I need to ride my bicycle from the station to my schools. Usually I carry a rain jacket, rain pants, and a waterproof cover for my backpack. Today I left home without my rain gear. There were many clouds in the sky, so I was worried all morning.

Now the clouds are disappearing and the sun is shining. I am relieved.

Too Slow

June 26, 2009

I walked to the train station slowly today. When I arrived, people were waiting to board the train. The young girls moved very fast and sat down. I could not get a seat. I was standing all the way from Ise to Tsu.

My feet are very tired.

Moving to Ise

April 23, 2009

Recently I have been very busy, so I haven’t been writing here. The main reason I am busy is my plan to move to Ise.

On May 24th I will move from Tsu to Ise. Now I live in a house, but in Ise I will live in an apartment. I will work in Tsu, so I will come from Ise by train everyday.

I am very excited about the move, but getting ready is very hard.
